The VILLBAU VBRC-4 Radio Communicator is based on the UHF Radio Transmitter utilizing 440-450MHz band (depends on local radio frequency regulation)

The VILLBAU VBRC-4 Radio Communicator is able to receive the telephone communication of the control panels with it and forward the events via its radio. In a simplified manner, it works like a "telephone monitoring receiver" for the control panel, routing the events from the telephone line to the radio channel. The Telco interface can be used standalone, or with external telephone line. In this case, it monitors the line and switches automatically into standalone mode in case of line trouble. It also reports the telephone line status to the monitoring station. The two-way telco connection between the communicator and the control panel ensures reliable reporting and can be used with the most of the control panels with telco interface, regardless of brand or manufacturer. The decoder can receive 4/2 (pulse or DTMF) and Contact ID reporting formats. Besides the telco decoder, some control panels (e.g. Solo Alpha, Paradox Esprit etc.) can be connected directly, via , as well, in case they have a one- or two-way serial port, and its protocol is supported in the VBRC-4 communicator. Apart from the above, the communicator reports its reset, power status, periodic test and the status of its two programmable I/O ports to the monitoring station.
